Friday, 13Aug10, Sarasota, FL, Suncoast Comm Blood Banks

Blood fact:  “Approximately 50% of blood donations go to cancer patients.”

Here we are in Sarasota, FL, and it’s Friday, the 13th, and it’s a “lucky” 13th!

I was invited to present the winning trophy to Sheriff Knight since his crew was the annual “Boots and Badges” competition of blood donations between the Police and Fire.

Suncoast staff did another amazing  job at the raising awareness in their local community.

I also had the opportunity to stay at the Hyatt and have dinner with Dr. Mark M. and his “sons” … at the Columbia restaurant … it was a great time and I want to thank Mark for his hospitality …

Another exciting day … visiting the “lab people” … check out the photos on Facebook …

Sometimes I feel like I’m the luckiest guy in the world … not only did 110 donors give one pint of blood each to save my life … I now have the honor and the privilege to travel around the U.S. and thank current ”donors” while thanking them for giving the “gift of life” to save lives and to save “families”.  You are amazing!

I just received a phone call from Adella … who informed me that she and 6-10 of her friends are going down to the Blood Bank of the Redwoods to donate blood … Thank you for donating, Adella and friends!

In a short time … I will be on my way to St. Petersburg, FL.
